Many LF/MF operators have downloaded and tried ON7YD’s slow JT9 software in the last few weeks, with varying degrees of success. The software would benefit from further development, which I hope the author is able to accomplish given the high level of interest shown.
Running in tandem has been a resurgence of an older mode, WSPR-15. This is available in the WSPR-X package, which was superseded by WSJT-X. Activity levels have been high. The WSPR-X user guide states that the 15 minute transmit/receive sequence duration offers 9dB more sensitivity than the conventional 2 minute mode. The signal report of IW4DXW in the table below (-41) would seem to confirm this.
